Raleigh residents are invited to kick off the summer season with a free community cookout on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 207 S. State Street, across from the former DMV site.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of grilled food, shaved ice, and live music. For families, there will be bounce houses, face painting, and goodie buckets filled with toys and candy for the kids.

City staff will be present to share updates on upcoming projects in the neighborhood, providing an opportunity for residents to engage with local initiatives.

In addition to the cookout, the first annual "Around the World Raleigh" festival will take place on the same day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Moore Square, 201 S. Blount St. This event celebrates global cultures through food, music, and art, offering another avenue for community engagement.

These free community events are excellent opportunities to connect with neighbors, enjoy delicious food, and learn more about the vibrant culture of Raleigh.
