Highlighting skatepark event and free community event activities |
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 3 to 9 p.m., the Conlon Family Skatepark at 905 U.S. 401 in Raleigh will host the 988 & Skate event, a free community gathering focused on mental wellness and connection.
Organized by Reggie Winston, founder of The Bar Ber Shop N.C., The Mobile Barber Truck, and the nonprofit Grooming Resources and Opportunities (GRO), this event aims to encourage open conversations and support for those who may be struggling.
Attendees can look forward to a live DJ spinning the hottest tracks, on-site barber services from Reggie's Mobile Barber Truck, and an open skate session welcoming all wheel types, including roller skates, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and Heelys.
Additional attractions include food trucks, local vendor experiences, and family-friendly activities suitable for all ages.
The event is deeply rooted in support of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a crucial resource for anyone experiencing emotional distress or mental health crises.
By creating a joyful and inclusive space for the community to connect, this event reinforces the message that help is available and no one has to face life's challenges alone. |
