Raleigh's Seaboard Station Introduces 'Sip n’ Stroll' Social District |
New initiative allows open alcohol consumption in designated area starting November 14 |
Raleigh is embracing a fresh social trend with the introduction of the 'Sip n’ Stroll' social district at Seaboard Station.
Beginning November 14, patrons can openly enjoy alcoholic beverages purchased from participating ABC-permitted establishments within the designated area daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The approved boundaries encompass West Franklin Street between Semart Drive and Halifax Street, and Seaboard Avenue between Semart Drive and Halifax Street.
Hoffman & Associates, the developers behind Seaboard Station, proposed this initiative to the Raleigh City Council on September 16.
Following extensive consultations with city officials, community groups, and local residents, the proposal received overwhelming support.
Nearly 90% of residents favored the designation, and over 75% of food and beverage retailers expressed interest in participating.
Seaboard Station has been undergoing significant transformation, evolving into a vibrant mixed-use development.
Recent additions include the Mediterranean-themed Boatman Spirits Co., which opened in June, and the rooftop venue High Rail at the Hyatt House Raleigh Downtown, which began welcoming guests in November 2024.
These establishments, along with others like Club Pilates and the Korean-French bakery TOUS les JOURS, contribute to the district's dynamic atmosphere.
The 'Sip n’ Stroll' initiative aims to enhance this vibrancy by fostering a more engaging and social environment for residents and visitors alike.
As the November 14 launch date approaches, Seaboard Station is poised to become a central hub for Raleigh's evolving social scene. |
