🏢 The RTP 3.0 Era Officially Begins |
A modern, vibrant mixed-use urban development campus in Research Triangle Park. A sleek, contemporary multi-story office building with glass facades is surrounded by outdoor plazas, green landscaping, pedestrian walkways, and a small outdoor cafe on a bright sunny day.
A massive transformation is officially underway in Research Triangle Park! The companies and landowners within the 7,000-acre campus have given their final approval to the highly anticipated "RTP 3.0" land rules. This marks a significant shift for the Triangle's economic engine, paving the way for a much more urban and connected environment. For decades, RTP has been known for its sprawling, isolated corporate campuses hidden behind thick pine trees. While that model worked well in the past, the new rules are designed to attract modern talent by allowing for dense, mixed-use development. For the first time, landowners have the flexibility to build housing, retail spaces, and other commercial amenities right alongside their offices. The goal is to create vibrant "nodes of activity" across the park, particularly along upcoming transit corridors. Imagine leaving your office and walking down a bustling street to grab coffee, meet friends for dinner, or even head back to an apartment—all within RTP. It's a vision inspired by other successful innovation districts across the country. While these changes won't happen overnight, the approval of RTP 3.0 sets the stage for exciting developments over the next decade. Keep an eye out as the park evolves from a collection of isolated fortresses into a dynamic, livable community! |
🍻 A Taste of Scandinavia at Norse Brewing Company
|
A warm, inviting interior of a charming Scandinavian-themed craft brewery and restaurant. Rustic wooden tables are decorated with Viking rune stones and gnome figurines. A bartender pours a craft beer behind a wooden bar, while a beautifully plated open-faced fried fish sandwich and beet salad sit on a table in the foreground.
Looking for a unique dining experience without leaving the Triangle? Take a short drive up to Wake Forest and step into the charming, gnome-filled tavern at Norse Brewing Company! This locally owned spot is serving up incredible Scandinavian-inspired food and craft beer that will transport you straight to Northern Europe. The founders, one of whom is Danish, have created a wonderfully cozy atmosphere complete with Viking rune stones and a menu that pays homage to their heritage. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you're in for a treat. Their craft beers and refreshing seltzers—like the passion fruit, orange, and guava blend—are perfect for beating the summer heat. When it comes to food, the Smørrebrød is a must-try. This traditional open-faced sandwich features crispy fried haddock and shrimp on sourdough, topped with tangy remoulade and arugula. If you're feeling adventurous, tackle the Viking Burger, a rich blend of bison, elk, boar, and beef topped with blue cheese and tomato jam. Don't skip the sweet and tangy beet salad with lingonberry vinaigrette! With a second location now open in Zebulon, Norse Brewing is making it easier than ever to enjoy a taste of Scandinavia. Skål!
