Joke Of The Day

Why did the scarecrow win an award in Raleigh?

Because he was outstanding in his field!

Jalen Snipes, a Raleigh resident, will run 150 miles from Raleigh to Charlotte to support the North Carolina Firefighters Fund.

He sets off Friday morning from the Raleigh Central Fire Station, aiming to finish the journey in just two days.

Snipes’ mission is deeply personal.

At age 11, he lost his Greensboro home to a lightning-sparked fire, forever inspired by the bravery of firefighters who responded.

Now, his drive to give back is clear—daily training at Lassiter Mill Park and a fundraising effort that’s already raised $10,000 with help from The Coley Group.

The money will fund firefighter training and education across North Carolina.

Snipes’ journey has sparked admiration from locals, including fire officials and family members, as the community rallies behind his extraordinary effort.
