Jalen Snipes, a Raleigh resident, will run 150 miles from Raleigh to Charlotte to support the North Carolina Firefighters Fund.
He sets off Friday morning from the Raleigh Central Fire Station, aiming to finish the journey in just two days.
Snipesâ mission is deeply personal.
At age 11, he lost his Greensboro home to a lightning-sparked fire, forever inspired by the bravery of firefighters who responded.
Now, his drive to give back is clearâdaily training at Lassiter Mill Park and a fundraising effort thatâs already raised $10,000 with help from The Coley Group.
The money will fund firefighter training and education across North Carolina.
