🏆 Raleigh's Historic Week: Stanley Cup Champions, Juneteenth Tours, and Lucky AF Sushi! |
Raleigh is celebrating a massive hockey championship, honoring history with Juneteenth tours, and getting ready for a fun new sushi spot! 🌪️🍣🏛️ #RaleighEvents #RaleighEats #StanleyCupChamps |
🏆 The Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup Champions!![]() It finally happened, Raleigh! For the first time in 20 years, the Carolina Hurricanes are bringing the Stanley Cup back to North Carolina! In a thrilling Game 6 on Sunday night, the Canes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0, capping off an absolutely dominant playoff run and sending the entire city into a frenzy of celebration.
The atmosphere at the sold-out Lenovo Center watch party was nothing short of electric. When the final horn sounded, the roar of the crowd hit deafening levels as fans celebrated the historic victory. Team captain Jordan Staal was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP, making history at age 37 as the oldest player to ever win the prestigious award.
Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour also cemented his legendary status in Raleigh. He is now just the seventh person in NHL history to lift the Stanley Cup as both a player and a head coach for the same team—and the first to do it since 1956! "These guys have been working for eight years for this," Brind'Amour said, reflecting on the team's incredible journey.
The celebration is just getting started. Grab your red and black gear, because a massive championship parade through downtown Raleigh is planned for 11 a.m. this Saturday. Let's show the hockey world how the City of Oaks celebrates!

🍣 Get Ready for "Lucky AF" Sushi Coming to Wade Avenue |
Raleigh's dining scene is getting a fun and flavorful new addition! Richmond-based Eat Restaurant Partners has announced plans to open a brand new Asian fusion restaurant called "Lucky AF" at the Ridgewood Shopping Center on Wade Avenue early next year.
If you're wondering about the name, the "AF" stands for Asian Fusion—a playful nod to the restaurant group's signature lively and fun atmosphere. This will be the group's second venture in Raleigh, following the successful opening of Wong's Tacos at the GlenLake office park last year.
Diners can expect a fantastic menu packed with fresh, creative dishes. The original Lucky AF location in Richmond is beloved for its beautifully crafted bento boxes, fresh dumplings, vibrant poke bowls, and dozens of traditional and specialty sushi rolls. It's the perfect spot for a fun date night or a lively dinner with friends.
Construction on the new Ridgewood location is expected to begin in the coming months. We can't wait to welcome Lucky AF to the neighborhood and dive into those incredible sushi rolls!
